On the other hand, installing a split AC is complicated, as it involves installation of two components, both of which need to be connected through a hose. But split AC creates noise outside the room, which means silent operation inside. Split AC also looks better than window air conditioning system and does not block your window like a windows AC does. So, the choice depends on your personal preferences.

The higher is the capacity of the AC, the cooler it will make the room. A low capacity AC will not be able to cool down a big size room. So, consider the size of your room while purchasing your air conditioner.

Warranty: Since an air conditioning system is an expensive unit, you need to make sure that it comes with a warranty of at least some years. Typically, an AC comes with a warranty of one year, but prefer the ones that come with a longer period of warranty. Also check which components are covered in the warranty, and whether the manufacturing company offers free AC services or not. When you buy an AC, some manufacturers offer 2-3 initial services for free, while others offer free installation. Check which one you want and opt for that.

Price: As the capacity, warranty, features, and energy efficiency of the air conditioner increase, its price increases too. A split AC is also more expensive than a window AC of the same specifications. So, make a budget and buy an AC that comes comfortably within your budget. Some manufacturers over-price their units just because of their brand name. You should choose an AC that is reasonably priced for the features you are ready to pay for.
